  • Special attention is given to the house placement for drainage and grading.
  • Basement walls have steel rodded cores for all walls spanning greater than fifteen feet.
  • Top quality Hem-fir lumber is used exclusively throughout the framing.
  • Framing inspections are done before the walls are closed to replace any structural members that may have warped or twisted during construction.
  • Exterior wall sheathing is corner to corner with full overlap of the band joist for additional structural strength.
  • No framing shortcuts are taken. Backers are used for all handrails, cabinets, pedestal sinks, shelving, and benches.
  • The Tyvek house wrap is not just stapled in place, we also tape the seams for maximum protection against air outside and water penetration.
  • Roof overlays are open framed for proper ventilation in the attic to insure that all rooms will balance during heating and cooling.
  • Drip edge is used on the roof eaves to protect the wood from moisture penetration and potential rot.
  • Shingle vent II with filter core is used to eliminate snow blowing into the attic.
  • Ice and water roofing underlayment is used where required.
  • Concrete slabs are tool cut. Fiber mesh and asphalt expansion joints are used in the garage to control cracking.
  • During the cold season, the heat is turned on early to assure a controlled acclimation of the installed materials.
  • A humidifier is a included with the heating system to reduce drywall cracks and nail pops as well as providing a healthier climate for you during the dry winter months.
  • Drywall board is not just glued up, the perimeter is sheet nailed and field screwed into place.
  • All openings are foam insulated during construction to virtually eliminate drafts.
  • Plumbing mains are oversized 3/4" copper for stable water pressure, with anti-air hammer installed at all fixtures to eliminate knocking in the water lines.
  • Plumbing drains are soundproofed in the interior walls to eliminate noises.
  • First rate maintenance free exterior trim materials that do not compromise the appearance are used wherever possible. 
  • The subfloor is screwed into place after the house has had a chance to stabilize the moisture content and all irregular butt joints are flashed before the floor coverings are laid.
  • The entire house is thoroughly cleaned before insulation, before, drywall, before the trim, before final flooring, and then it is given a complete final professional cleaning to assure a dust free house when you move in.
